so here's a mod idea I've had for quite a while. I really hate big bots, having to shoot at specific spots on their boty (see what I did there?) makes it a huge nuisance to fight, especially in smooth locomotion mode. So What I'd like to so is get rid of the cannisters on it's back all together, and just give it a lot of health, that way you can fill it with lead and just have to shoot it a bunch to kill it, rather than worrying about hitting an exactly right spot. it could even do more damage with it's  smash attack, or run at you and ram you, stunning you somehow. anyway, that's my idea. ^^

maybe even make it into more of a boss bot, where it would try to run at you and ram you several times, then shoot it's laser once, then be stunned for a short time so you could shoot it and then it would armor on again. not sure yet, but i like the idea. ^^

I like the idea, especially of the big boys rushing the player. I'll poke around their code for a bit and see what I can do, maybe I can set the weak spot to their entire mesh.

yeah! they certainly interact with the bullets (aka bouncing them) so it should be easy to  make the main mesh support hit generation and then cast to base_bullet to detect being shot and then just lower their main health bar. Not sure what we'd have to do to get rid of the big cylinders, though.

kinda have something working, just need to make it so the health bar reacts. Right now he's a bit low on health too, and he still just kinda stands there, but it's better than nothing!

It's easy to increase max health values, theyre in the details for the bot. And I'm pretty sure there's a way to connect them to the global AI system, but you can also make one yourself in their blueprint. I like the fast progress!

Ok! So I gave him a jack ton of health, made a new health bar for him, and makes him instantly die when out of health (instead of being able to hack him). gonna export it now!

He uses most of the basic AI for now (haven't added any rush events yet) but the damage events are fully custom now, and run every time he's hit by a bullet.

Oh, sweet! We're definitely making the player a bit too powerful, it's time we had a real challenge to face! It'd be sick if you could retexture them too, (when they're done lol) and I can add spawners for them in my 3 maps! If there's any way I can contribute to this project, let me know!
