I've been pretty quiet for the past few months, but I've been hard at work in the background, creating some truly groundbreaking mods!
These include:
The Bionicle Heroes Weapons Pack
Midnight Recall Survival Map
Flight Mod Climbing/Menus/Melee Update
Melee Enhancement System
Climbing System

The Climbing System is a block of code that, when combined with a map/surface that supports overlapping events, can allow the player to freely climb across various surfaces and move around the world with their arms in three dimensions!
I've also created a map to work with this, called Midnight Recall. Post here. The walls and ceilings have Overlap Events enabled, meaning any player pawn with the Climbing System can scale across them.

Players will need an Expanded Movement mod, such as the Smooth Locomotion Mod the Flight Mod, or the Mega Man X Dash mod, as only these allow for climbing, and only on the Midnight Recall and SurvivalTriPack maps. More will likely be added in the future

To begin climbing, stand in the middle of your playspace circle. Then, just grab a wall and start climbing! Be careful not to pull yourself into the wall, as that can cause bugginess. To climb up onto a surface, make sure it's below the center of your circle. Letting go will just drop you, so be sure to be on top of the surface!

While holding onto a wall, you can grab with your other hand to keep climbing, vertically or horizontally. You can even grab onto ceilings and climb under them, or grab a weapon and fire it while holding onto a wall or ceiling!

Also while holding a wall, pressing the jump button will wall jump the player in whatever direction they're facing. Holding onto a wall with two hands allows the player to jump farther.

Other mod authors are encouraged to contact me about adding this to their maps and player pawns. It consits of three functions, several events, and several variables, so we'll need to adapt it to whatever you want to add it to.

sounds amazing dude! Yeah, if I could get ahold of the source code for that that would be great, would love to add this to the Step turn mod base, so it works with ISC mods.

Yeah, there's no .robo file for this, it's more of an explanation of the functionality. It's already included with other mods, and it can't work without being deeply integrated with the player mod. So no individual robo file, but with the Source Release it should be fairly simple to begin implementing this everywhere

The SurvivalTriPack maps have all been updated with Climbing Compatibility! Players can now climb on walls and buildings in CityCenterSurvival, OldTownTrials and RooftopRecall, in addition to Ultimate Recall! That's 4 compatible maps so far!

Is there an easy way to add throwing yourself off walls? I know the wall jump button works but I'd like to be able to throw myself off the wall Climbey style! If you could get that to work it'd be amazing! It just feels a little weird yanking down the controller and letting go and the velocity resets immediately and makes me fall. ^^

I've looked into it, and haven't found a simple method. The only ways I've found so far use 4D Quaternion rotations to calculate linear and angular velocity, which is a bit out of scope at the moment. I'm not even sure if it's possible in Blueprint, it might need to be written in C++!

Messed around with code for a little bit and Ive got the start of something working! By passing a value from the climbing hand back to the player pawn, I can use the "launch character" event to force a velocity on the character. Now, if I can just force it to use the velocity the hand was moving at pre-letting go of the wall, HUZZAH! I should have throwing working!

Ok here's V6 of the Smooth Locomotion Mod! It's got what I'm calling a "Climb-Dash" implemented, that allows the player to throw themselves off in any direction! Makes scaling large towers much, much easier!
